OUR STORY
Assalamu Alaikum. With the grace of Allah, we are proud to be establishing the first Masjid in North Mississippi, the Desoto Islamic Center (Abraham House of God), in Horn Lake, Mississippi (4600 Church Rd, Horn Lake, MS 38637).
Initially, the Horn Lake City Council denied our request to construct the mosque. However, after pursuing legal action and winning in Federal Court, we secured the right to build.
We are delighted to announce that a 10,000 sq ft Masjid will soon be constructed on a 13-acre parcel of land, which will also include a cemetery. This project aims to serve and strengthen the Muslim community in the region.

Our mission is to establish an Islamic center that is a tolerant, open, warm, and welcoming environment for all. A place where we bring out the best of our qualities as individuals and as a community, promote the next generation of Muslim youth, foster relationships with our neighbors and larger community while also staying true to our Islamic values.
The Abraham House of God (Desoto Islamic Center) has been in the making since 2019. Our Muslim community lacked accessibility to basic religious needs and required traveling to another state just to practice their religion. It is also our mission to educate those who wish to learn about Islam and Muslims, providing a facility for practicing Muslims to commemorate in religious practice. Our vision is to unite our neighbors and friends from all religious backgrounds and to help alleviate any misconceptions that have arisen about our culture and religion.
